Inverter Bypass/Transfer Switch

This is the same bypass control as the inverter bypass-switch on Xantrex/Trace Factory Built Power Panels. It contains two 60 amp breakers with a center toggle, so when one breaker is turned ON the other is turned OFF. When wired between your inverter, and either your generator or utility supplied AC input and panel (loads), it allows you to bypass the inverter to power loads directly from your AC input (either generator or utility), either during inverter maintenance or repair or if you want to power some extra loads for short periods. Switch between either two power sources of inverter, utility or a generator. Add two units to switch between three power sources.

It's very helpful to be able to power loads directly from the utility or a generator for short periods, rather than have the battery/inverter try to meet some short term "extra" loads. You just temporarily bypass the inverter (and batteries) to run the extra load(s) directly.
