The base unit has a U.L. Listed AC battery charger accessory, and the internal battery is a (sealed) SLA, which is exempt from 49 CFR 173.159, since it meets the requirements of 49 CFR 173.159(d), exempt from hazardous classification for purposes of shipping by land, air or sea. The base unit enclosure is considered a portable device and of commercial quality. Further agency certification(s) is not relevant or required. However, the inverter, safety provisions, and all other components are recognized to meet or exceed respected standards. The solar module is listed U.L. - 1703 and FM approved Class 1 Div. 2.. The solar controller is ETL approved and listed to UL1604 and CSA 22.2 No.213-M1987 for use in Class 1, Division 2,Groups A, B, C and D hazardous locations.
